You cannot maintain opposing thoughts without maintaining conflicting
Take just one thing that you would dearly like to achieve in your life right
now, then think back over the last week and recall the thoughts or
conversations that you have had.
You may find something like this:
Desire…I want to lose 5 kg.
Thoughts… I'm fat and unattractive, I need a little treat, I love chocolate,
fattening foods are yummy foods.
Desire… I want to pass an exam.
Thoughts… I'm stupid, it is too hard, I hate this subject, I'm a loser.
Desire… I want a loving relationship
Thoughts…I'm nothing special, all men are bastards, he will find
someone better than me and leave.
Before you start using creative visualization you need to be clear about
the information you want to programme, otherwise you will limit your
1. Decide what you want. (Get clear on all the details and write them
Desire… I want to lose weight.
I will lose 5kg within 5 weeks, easily and effortlessly.
I want to feel proud of myself.
I want my health, energy and enjoyment of life to increase.
I want to improve my fitness and muscle tone.
I want to be complimented by family and friends.
I want to look great and dress nicely.
I will maintain my ideal weight and never have to think about weight again.
2. Make a list of negative or opposing thoughts that you know you
(You will need to keep this list and add to it over the next week or two as
you discover additional destructive thinking habits.)
I can't lose weight.
I love food.
I've always had a weight problem,
My family is fat.
It's a gene/hormonal thing
I can't exercise.
It's my birthday, I deserve something special.
You will need to be ‘The Thought Police’ for a few weeks. Catch yourself
quickly and instantly refute the statement, or quickly visualize a big red
cross over the thought and imagine it melt and dissolve.
3. Relax your body and mind
Sit or lie in a comfortable place and give yourself an instruction to tune
out any distractions. It's a good idea to stretch first, as we often don't
realize that we have muscular tension until we stretch and release it.
Long, slow, deep breaths not only oxygenate the mind and body, but also
help to bring our awareness into our body. Being very relaxed helps to
access the sub-conscious and stills the conscious part of the mind. In
deep relaxation, your brainwaves change to the Alpha or Theta
frequency. This is where you have the greatest access to the sub-
conscious. The goal is to by-pass consciously thinking about or arguing
with your new thoughts.
4. Imagine a place, situation or a person that brings a positive
It could be something like floating on a cloud, standing under a waterfall,
sitting on a beach or even sailing on a yacht. You could also visualize
yourself speaking with God, an angel or a sage. Choose an image that
makes you feel safe, loved, joyful or special. By activating a positive
emotion, you will be associating your new behaviour with this feeling and
giving it greater power.
When you are feeling really good, add the ability to dissolve fear,
insecurity, or any negative aspect that you may be dealing with. For
example, you may see yourself under a waterfall, joyous and exhilarated.
You then imagine the water washing away your fear and dissolving it. If
you initially used the angel, you may have her giving you comfort and
strength and expressing love and compassion. You follow this up with her
dissolving or healing your insecurities, resentments and self-doubt.
5. Imagine your main goal in as much detail as you can
If you are working on your health, you could imagine a great healer or
many healers coming in to heal you. You can imagine toxins, diseases
and viruses as little creatures or dark spots being dissolved or blown
away. You may prefer to fill your body with white light or focus on a
particular body part and instruct it to get stronger or shrink pain until it
disappears, whatever feels effective and powerful.
You want as much detail as you can imagine, positive and with emotion
When you feel that a healing has taken place, continue to visualize
yourself as healthy and happy in all areas of your life. See your body
become pain free, flexible, vibrant, energised and strong. Visualize
yourself in your daily life moving freely and energetically doing the things
that you love to do. See your family and friends and the life-force itself
supporting and protecting you. See yourself as emotionally strong and
grounded. Further, imagine a protective barrier being activated so that
you will repel disease, illness and negativity.
Then, let it go
You must accept that your healing is complete. No matter what it is that
you have been working on, you need to think and act as though it has
already happened. If you keep going over and over the same thing, you
will be suggesting to your mind that the problem still exists. You will be
undoing your work by reinforcing that there is a problem.
You do not need to see pictures
Many people feel that they are not getting results because they don't see
vivid pictures. Imagination is visual to your mind. It does not matter at all if
you see a picture, sensing an image is the same as seeing an image. It
can be similar to closing your eyes and remembering what something
If you watch a sad movie and find yourself crying, it is because you are
imagining yourself in that situation. You may not picture yourself in the
situation, but the fact that you are crying proves that your sub-conscious
mind is imagining that this is happening to you. The fact that your body is
responding to the images shows how powerful the imagination is. (Erotic
pictures and horror movies can also create physical arousal or fear,
which further illustrates how the sub-conscious believes or accepts visual
I have been using this technique for more than 20 years. Sometimes I get
no pictures. Often I see something similar to the test pattern on
television. Sometimes I feel a strong emotional sensing or even sounds.
Most of the time, I do get extremely vivid pictures.
I have seen colours that I have never seen in the physical world, as well
as places, plants and people that I have never seen before. I have
received really profound advice and insight through sensing information.
I often ask for information or advice and usually get immediate results.
Sometimes I find that it comes a day or two later from a song on the radio
or a situation on television or a casual conversation. (Answers to
questions often show up as co-incidence.)
That's how easy creative visualization is; you can do it right now! You
have been doing this your entire life anyway. This is how you became
you. This is how your personality, relationships, health, work and your
talents became set. This is how your life got to be where it is today.
Consider how much of whom you are, or where you are today is a result
of incorrect information and negative or conflicting beliefs.
Today may be the day that you start your life over by dismantling what
you no longer wish to maintain and re-creating what you do want.
Cells, Atoms and Energy
Creative visualization has to do with energy. We usually think of
ourselves as bodies with minds. Everything that we can see has shape,
form, and explanation. As your energy changes and your awareness
focuses, you will begin to feel that you really are a mass of vibrating cells
and atoms within an electrical field. You will also become more aware of
the connection between your mind and body.
You will become aware of a spiritual existence. It doesn’t take long before
you experience the mind - body - spirit connection. All three work
together as one energy. You may also find that you feel more connected
with other people and your external environment. You will begin to feel a
part of the life process and lose your feeling of disconnection.
When you begin to live in this reality, life becomes more enjoyable and
sensible. You will also find that there are no people who are more or less
important than you. Everyone becomes important, but no one becomes
more important than anyone else. The playing field becomes level.
Problems which may have upset you before are approached matter-of-
factly and dealt with simply.
Your perception of yourself will change. It will increasingly become more
about how you feel and less about how you look, what you do, or what
You will appreciate what you have, rather than stress about what you
want. A great sense of gratitude and acceptance will enter your
People become warmer, funnier and more genuine and generous.
One of the very big things you will notice is a sensation of healing
energy. You will physically feel yourself being healed and you will notice
that people will be drawn to you. They may not know why, but they just
need to be near you or to speak with you.
Until now, most of my references have been about the mind, such as
referring to behaviours, beliefs, habits, psychology and conditioning. This
has been very deliberate, as I have found that some people will not
consider something new if it is not logical. Some people are really into
trying new things and will simply give it a go if it sounds good. Many
people have already tried or are practicing similar techniques.
These two groups are already half-way there because they are open to
increasing or improving their mind- body- spirit connection and potential.
Rather than preach to the converted, I have approached this information
with the uninitiated or sceptical in mind.
When you use creative visualization things happen that are simply
Your instincts or gut feelings become stronger and more accurate.
‘Lucky’ things appear in your life.
You’ll become aware of warmth or tingling when you are relaxed. (this is

have been years since you last spoke with each other.
Everyday you notice incredible coincidences.
You may feel compelled to try new, creative endeavours.
Many people move house or redecorate, creating simplicity and space.
You may feel a sense of serenity and a detachment from petty problems.
You will read a person’s intention rather than react to their actions;
sensing what is honest or genuine.
People may start to leave your life and new people suddenly come into it.
These new people often appear to be very familiar although you have
never met them.
Your taste in food changes and alcohol and drugs may react differently
in your body.
Many people find that their eyes look a little different, clearer or lighter.
Things like television and magazines keep giving you answers to
questions you’ve been pondering.
Telepathy becomes more frequent.
You get more green lights than red and easily park in a crowded car park.
You begin to have days when you wake up feeling really excited about
something and then you realize that,
‘You have Joy - for no reason at all’.
